    Description

Presented is a fabulous Tiffany & Co sterling silver five piece tea set. This set dates to 1928-1930 and was made in England by C.S. Harris & Sons Ltd for retail by Tiffany. The set is done in a classical form, with gadrooned rims and ball feet. The kettle attaches to its stand with a nice key-pin and chain setup, one at each end, so the key at one end can be removed and the kettle tipped forward to pour, without removing it from the stand entirely. The stand has fancy claw form feet. The burner has a twist-turn handle to extend the wick. Each piece in the set has a monogram of MFE in classic Tiffany style script. The interior of each piece has been professionally cleaned and is spotless, ready for use. The exterior of each piece has been polished to a high mirror finish.
    The set consists of:
Teapot--11 1/2 inches from spout to handle, 6 inches tall. Capacity of 5 1/2 cups (44 fluid ounces/1.3 liters).
Covered sugar bowl--7 inches from handle to handle, 4 3/8 inches tall.
    Creamer--4 inches tall.
Waste bowl--5 inches from side to side, 2 7/8 inches tall.
Kettle on stand--11 7/8 inches tall on the stand, 9 1/2 from back to handle. Capacity of 5 1/2 cups (44 fluid ounces/1.3 liters).
This set is in great condition. The lid of the sugar bowl only fits one way, it won't sit evenly if it's put on turned the opposite way. There are no splits, no breaks, no other dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
Each piece is hallmarked on the side with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, and the maker's mark for C.S. Harris & Sons Ltd. The kettle and its stand are dated with the letter P for 1930, while the other four pieces are stamped n for 1928. Each piece is also stamped Tiffany & Co as well as England on the underside. This set is very thoroughly hallmarked. The lids are also hallmarked, the nuts that hold the finials in place, the burner, the keys, even the chains are stamped with the lion passant every four links down their length. Everything is 100% original.
The total weight for the set is 3234.8 grams or 114.1 regular ounces.
